A friend of mine has a pioneer or a kenwood 7" cd/dvd/mp3 fold out indash unit that he is gonna sell me cheap. It is brand new. can that fit in my car? I keep seeing everyones head units that are as big as the stock one. So can it fit?

If it's a foldout, it'll fit in your car. Foldouts are the same size as a single DIN headunit, generally.

 

I've pics of a lot of members units and it is smaller.

about the size of this one...circuit city online says it won't fit- don't they sell a plastic fitting kit that will make it fit?

The Pioneer N2 apsolutely fits. You do need a $20 plastic adapter which gives you a little cell phone pocket under the radio. This same adapter will fit any single DIN unit. There's a plenty deep space behind the console which ought to fit nearly any radio.

That's a really good deal for that HU. I pondered getting one myself, but I'm not in my car enough to justify the cost. I'd definitely have gotten one if I could have had it for less than 800.

 

i really want to put a lcd screen in the cubbyhole cause i have a 06 base, but dont know how/which one fits/how to do it etc... so i guess that is why i will get the indash one. i just want to do something cool to that space. 2 screens-one on the hu and one in the cubby would be cool though.
