Default Removing JL audio stealthbox

I originally didnt want to give up my trunk space for the stealth box. But i dont travel that much either, so how hard would it be to remove the stealthbox, if i actually needed the trunk space?

And also where is the best place to find it? My local authorized dealer quoted me $800 bux!!!

800 bucks to remove the box?!?!?!? or you mean 800 for hte box? the second sounds more or less what a normal shop would charge to install one.

i wouldnt remove it too often, is it possible? yes, would you want to do it with any sort of freq? no

that is if you are going to mount the amp somewhere else, and want to spend the effort to plug it in and out right? and you dont secure the box at all?

my rule is always to bolt down the subbox securely...well, maybe its easier than i made it out to be lol

The 800 quote was the price of the box. And i wouldnt be taking it out often, just when i needed the space. I definitely wouldnt want to install and mount it without securing it just so i could take it out easily... But id want to be able to take it out and put it back in myself with moderate ease.

then just dont moutn the amp to it, and use two or three heavy duty L brackets on the backside of the box to bolt it down tot he floor, the front will be held be the arch...then you should be able to remove it in about 2 mins

The under the strut bar box will only take up more space. I have the Jl Stealthbox and it is situated in an area no one really uses. No need for L brackets. THe box has spots for it to mount to the car. I think they were 2 big screws or something. It will be a pain to remove when you want to. I thought it was good though. If your car were to ever be broken into, it would give the theifs a fit trying to take it out.
