Hey guys I just got a Alpine CDA 9853 but my tuner isn't working too good.. I'm not getting good reception. Am i supposed to use the tuner wiring? The stock antena wire seemed to fit right in so i didnt...
I'm getting crappy to no reception...
Help would be appreciated with someone who's installed this. Thanks

As per the thread linked three posts above: The green wire with the white stripe (the antenna amp wire) on the factory harness should line up with the blue wire on the aftermarket harness. (*edit* if you have a kit, connect the p/ant wire from the alpine unit to the wire in the harness that corresponds to the grn/wht wire in the manuf. harness. Should be blue wire if you are using the Metra harness)
You can take his word on this, it's a common beginner install mistake. You need to hook up the power antenna wire on most nissans. Though I am an experienced installer, I made the same mistake. When I see a nissan that has no power antenna nor neccessitate an antenna conversion harness, I normally don't hook up the p. ant. wire. Quickly realised my mistake upon testing the fm tuner after install.
BTW, Alpine uses a blue wire for p. ant. and a blue/white wire for amp turn-on. If your amp only turns on with the radio, you got them backward
