Default anyone want to be a guinea pig for an idea i have?

well...here is an idea that i ahve been wanting to try out on a 350z...

so far i have seen three different types of boxes in the Z:

1. understrut: cheap, easy to install, but takes up trunk sapce and makes getting the spare out somehwat of a pain

2. side boxes on the back, more expensive

3. underfloor: more expnesive to do, limited by depth on the sub...

well...how about having a subbox that only takes up the area INFRONT of the arch, yet have the output of a single 10 or single 12?

the key is to use a trio or four of the elemental designs 6.5" true subwoofers...

to get an idea of why this is a true subwoofer:

anyway, if someone wants one, i want to test out this theory of mine, i will build a custom box with 3 of these suckers for $325 shipped, or if you are local, for $300, fully trimed in matching vinyl and will fit the countours of the floor area between the seats and the arch and will onyl rise up about 4-5' tops...fully refundable if it doesnt sound good

if it works, it could be a very good space saving way for the Z

hehe, its late, we will see, i think these suckers will also openup a new kind of instlalation possiblity in the Z, with underarch box holding four of them, and say a amp tray drawer that slidesout from underneat it ...

alex, sometime in mid april i will be doing a roaster with 6 of these suckers inthe cabin

i will get the text organized asap, when i get a chance to breath...lol

B,

Are these the Eu-700? If so I've gotta say these will really kick some serious a** in the Z. Especially 3 of them *sighs ahahhaha

This would be perfect for someone looking for a very clean sound, and pretty insane output when they want to have it.

Someone, take this man up!~!!!

I have done a infront of strut between the strut and the rear speaker.

I have change from a two sub to a single Type-X

Maybe your thinking of a different design or is the close to what your thinking of?

yeah, basically, but ALOT smaller...here i got a pic:

by the way, i have NO photoshop skills lol

now, imagine when you look at this angle, just a vinly floor like this, but about 2" higher, so the top comes to that line ont he panel. flushed mounted will be three eu700 6.5" subs (4 possible)...now the nice thing is, if i chose wisely, i can potentially fit one or two amps on either side of this, at leasty one side for sure, flush mounted, so the option is there for having a pcakage box with eitehr just a sub amp, or all your amps...

the idea is to get the sound quality of a moderate 10 (whcih i have no doubt this can achieve), while taking up as little space as possible and is pretty much unseen from the driver seat...

Sounds interesting, still skeptical of the reproduction of deeper frequencies from a 6 1/2...despite their excusion capabilities.

How about a 10 in the passenger footwell...

dammit! lol

but on the side note, here is a response graph in a small hatch back...

comparison of a 12" sub (13kv), a 10" (11kv) and 4 of the eu6500

note taht the 4 6.5s have more otuput at ALL freqs level than the single 10, even at the ultra low end, and that at 30hz, they are louder than even the 12 and the kv series of edesigns subs are not cheap or flimsy subs
