Based on this thread and others, I started making a new design. I finished the basic construction, and it seems to fit without issue albiet -very- snug front to back.. There's another thread started to get feedback on it, but I figued you guys may be interested for sure.. Here's a diagram.

Hey, GuyK -
Do you have a db rating on the setup you're running? It's just that on man's "loud" is another man's "what, I can't hear it". Also, have you heard one of Mike's under-strutbar boxes? How does it compare?
Thanks!
Chuck

I recommend this design for anyone looking for an "adequate" amount of bass, who is considering weight as well as the stealth look. All in all, I'm very pleased!!! Thanks guys!!!

so is that an up facing sub? how exactly does this fit in the stock location? i would have expected it to be flipped over....can you take pics of it in your car? does this box fit EXACTLY in there or is there room around it still? I'd like to re-arrange the design a bit for 2 6" subs if possible

No... it faces down, it is flipped over from the picture. I can take pictures of it in the car if you'd like. PM me in a few days if you don't here from me... I have a bad memory!!! If I had to do it over again, I would make it a little less long... so maybe 15" instead of 16 long... and then it could become wider... so maybe 17" instead of 15.5" wide. Let me know if I can help!!!

Default I wanna see toooooo

I saw where someone asked the questions, can you install the box from just the stock sub cut out access?

I did see where there was a response.

I really don't want to tear into the rear, so if this box cannot be installed through the bose sub access then I'm going with a powered type sub like a Bozoka or any that you guys recommend.

Thanks

The only thing you have to take out to get the sub box above in the car is the metal plate that the stock sub is bolted onto. It is just bolted on the frame, so there's really no "tearing into the rear" involved. Hope this helped... and I will post pics asap!

wow that doesnt fit in there very well at all. Looks like it would slide around while driving, and where does the sub sit?.... i'm not a big fan.

Like I said above, the sub fires downward. From the picture, it does seem like it would slide around, but it doesn't. You can bolt it down pretty easy in the back. I've also seen people simply tie it down, but I haven't had any sliding issues at all.

Sweet, I will be trading my rear hatch box in for one of these once I get around to building it. Sick of my trunk space being taken up, and every one being able to see I have upgraded audio.

Default Further clarification

blazersman,

Could you give some more info on if / how you secured the box & sub from moving around?

Did you Dynamat the stock cavity?

Will the stock Bose cover fit with the box as shown, and I'm also wondering if that cover will rattle - since it doesn't seem very tight.

thanks...Pablo'Z
