Default Do police still use X band?

I just got a radar detector, and it seems like the only x-band alerts i get are falses. Do the cops even use x-band? If they don't, I think I'll just turn it off. Thanks.

Well, it's difficult to tell. All the radar manualsa saying police not using it anymore. Also personally I never got X-band from police radar. Its K and Ka's 50/50. But then... who knows... I keep my X-band on, as it not bothering me too often. Of course if you are living in highly populated area you might consiedr switching it off.

Default x-band in Colorado

I still get x-band warnings on my V-1 here in Colorado. The highway and police depts still use them in the large, towable speed warning trailers that display your speed. It's useful to track them as speed traps usually follow in the months and weeks afterwards.

x-band radar is rarely used these days by police. The only police dept that uses x-band radar would be small rural areas in the mid-west with maybe 1-2 police cars in their unit. Obviously, they can't afford the high end Ka and laser guns used today.

I got tagged about a month ago with X-band. It was a Mathews (Charlotte suberb) cop though. He let me see my speed on his radar in his car. It looked pretty antiquated though. False alarm or not, I always slow down when my detector goes off. Better safe than sorry.

Not to get into this with you again Vlad, but the V-1 has a feature where you can have it either ignore X band, beep when it detects X band only at a much lower volume, or beep full volume when it detects X band.

I use the middle of the road setting. I want to know about it, but I know 99 times out of 100 it is a false alarm. But I still want to hear it.

Just another nice feature of the Valentine One.

Oh yeah, Vlad, did I ever mention that it has directional arrows???
