Default Metra Dash kit and speaker question.

I've been to three Circuit City stores, and none of them have the Metra kit for the 350. What really blows me away is that all three said they would look into ordering one and would get back to me. Not one has called back. No one wants my business!

Are there any on-line sources for this?

Second question. I want to replace the stock door speakers, but don't want to install a sub. My requirements are few, but I do want clean full sound. Any suggestions on a door mount that gives decent bass response (I'm old, I don't need the boom-boom). I'm not looking for great sound, just better than what I've got, and reasonably priced.

Thanks.

Default What's up with the shipping rates!

I go to http://www.audio-warehouse.com./detail.asp?mdl=99-7402 to order a dash kit, and the shipping is almost 11 bucks! That doesn't seem right! That thing barely weighs a pound at most!

audio-warehouse had my kit delivered to me 2 days aftermy order was submitted. Great prices and good service. They also sell the wire harnesses...$7 at AWE vs $18 at Circuit city.

The metra kit is very nice, a perfect fit, and the extra pocket comes in very handy for storing cd's up front.

Is that extra pocket single DIN size as well? I am looking to use the metra kit to instal a headunit and a 5 disc in dash changer. Both are Blaupunkt.

Yes, the other slot will hold another DIN sized component.

why does it apper that the metra kit does not finish very well around the edges of the head unit and dvd? It there a peice missing, or is it a case of "tough sh*t"?

Do you have the link to the wiring harness? I could not find it on the AWE website.

I believe it's a case of a "tough shot". My installer was trying to "convince" me that it may be better to go with a pop-up screen and separate dvd player setup, so he "threw" these two components into the Metra kit to see what I thought about it (I didn't like it). If you look at the picture you can see that both units are over to the right and not centered. In addition I believe the flash and the direct straight-on shot caused a reflection off of the "silver". The actual unit installed (Alpine 7996) doesn't show any "silver".
