Default Poll: 1 10w6v2 vs 2 10w3s

I was planning on getting the 10w6v2 but was wondering what the sound difference was between just one of these and 2 10w3s.

Ive heard 10w6ae's and love the sound.

I will sell you one of mine if you are interested. Maybe a trade and some cash deal?

I am running 2 right now and it is to much for me. I am going to go to a single box.

i have 2 10w6v2's and a single 500/1 and the bass shakes the gel out of your hair

never heard the 10w3's but having 2 10w6s are a bit much for me...i'm sure i would have been just as happy with a single

2-W3vs-d4. You will be pushing 20" of air vs 10".

it depends,

all out volume, the two 10w3s will be louder given the same wattage in the same car, simply becuase of more displaced air...

and if installed correctly, both should sound great.

it all comes down to whcih one costs more, if you can get the two 10w3s for less than a single 10w6, thats the way to go...if not, then its a toss up do you want to pay a bit more for more bass...etc

Well after 16psi saying that the 10w3v2s are louder total and Robert saying it pushes twice as much air i went ahead and ordered 2 10w3v2-d4s for $260 shipped on ebay brand new . Pretty good deal id say, some guy had just posted them within the hour and i jumped on em buy it now.

Now i just need to get one of those Zenclosures and ill be set, my JL e1800d puts out way more power than is demanded by these subs so i should be set to go.

Oh I wasn't comparing it to the other choices. I just really like them... personal preference and I've had w6s.

Has anyone heard some of the Seas woofers? Based on their ranges it's hard to tell if they're meant for misbass or sub. They've got a 10" that goes from like 20-1000 Hz recommended range. You could probably tune them even past that if you wanted. If I can create an all active crossover system in my next car I'm going to use all Seas components.

I have extensively used Seas Lotus components .. I used to deal them. The subs are phenomenal. I got member KShep to get a full The Reference front stage and 2 10" subs ... ask him his impression

well, the reason why i made my comment is that its not awlays twice as much air...

for example...

many subs, though rated at say 12" , due to some overly large surround, only has a cone size of a 10, and plus if their xmax isnt good...then..

basically two 10" sub with a cone size of a 9 with only 10mm of xmax or so is going to displace LESS air than a 12" sub with a true 12" cone size and witha 24mm xmax...

but in the case fo the jl subs, the displaced volume of two 10 w3s will be about what...50-60 percent more than a single 10w6

I have had both #1 and #2. It depends on how much bass you want. Do like your music loud and clean or do you like loud with lots and lots of bass?

#1 will sound good and be very clean but not too loud.
#2 will be loud and clean but require more space and power.

I like the W6's but they are a bit overrated. The W3's are great subs for the price.
My only complaint about 10's are they do not hit the low notes the way I like no matter how much power you give them. I just had 2 10's with 1500 watts but they just can't reproduce the lows so I went back to 12's. If you do a vented enclosure then they can. But if you do 12's in a sealed enclosure they are my fav.

Back to your question, I would do the 2 W3's.
