That's a little different. A Z does not really transfer sound to the outside very well. It is a well insulated vehicle.
If you want people to hear your Z from any distance ... go ahead and set the crossover as high as possible and boost the mid-low band frequencies.
It's because you can hear the harmonics of the bass (the double and tripled frequncies) from the distortion most subwoofers reporduce. The W7 does not do this. That is why many don't feel the W7 is that good ... it doesn't produce the crappy bass we are so accustomed to love and expect in a LOUD system.

It is not as loud as most people said it would be. i have a 500/1 with the
10w7. I have a set of diamond audio components in the rear and front hooked up to an eclipse amp. What can i do to get more bass out of the speakers and sub? I turned the volume all the way up and stood about 3 feet away from the car and all that can be heard is voice.

why is everyone so bent up on what it sounds like outside of the car. how does it sound inside?
dont feel like reading everything but check amp settings, wiring, and box to make sure there are no leaks. btw 500 watts isnt exactly an insance amount of pwoer to run to a sub. especially one that can take double that.

) Double it and not only will you void the warranty but you'll more than likely damage your sub.And W7s don't suck. But that's just my opinion... what do I know.
your box is too small, and so is the amp (no matter what JL says). there's a reason I had TWO 1000/1s on my 13W7 (and a reason I sold it all: besides having NO trunk, it stalled the car on the highway at 90).

I have a 500/1 running W7 10" in a ProWEdge box by JL Audio and my **** hits hard.
OP, on your EQ setting you have the bass down. I would run the bass all the way up (or a lot higher) and use high-pass filters on the componets, so they don't blow.

btw i was being sarcastic that w7s suck. obviously they dont.
i didnt say for him to double that, bc he obviously has no idea what he is doing if he is A:using his bass **** at all and B:has it turned up "all the way". that damn thing is not a volume control. people need to stop buying high end **** and wondering why it sounds horrible when they are stupid about it. but a dub7 can take twice its power.
going back to the first page, where someone asked what ohms the sub is and if the amp is the righta mp. all 10/12 w7s are dual 3 ohm and since hes running a slash amp it doesnt matter the ohm load. yes he still has to wire it right so its seeing 3 ohm and not 6 but hopefully he knows that.
and again who gives a rat's a## if you can hear it outside of your car. what are you a 16 yr old hs kid?
i diidnt buy my car for others to drive, im ont making the payment for others to enjoy, i didnt spends thousands in audio equipment over the years for others to hear my music. i guess to each his own.
and ot the OP if you dont know what youre doing, which you dont, please take it in to a audio store and ask them to help you tune it and teach you what theyre doing.
I got it installed at 6th ave electronics and thats the way they tuned it. the reason i asked before why it cant be heard out side before was because with the stock bose subwoofer the base can be heard from outside the car and now that i got a speaker that is supposed to be one of the "best" i cant hear it. I dont want the bass to be heard outside the car , i was just wondering why the bose could be heard outside and the w7 cant
