Pioneer Avic-Z1
bing take a look at this link, apparently somebody bypassed the lockout on the Z1 by loading some sort of file onto the internal drive...

Anyone w/ pioneer knowledge know if this is possible?
D2 Question for anyone who knows.
I'm wondering if this is possible running the D2.
I want to have an auxilary DVD source wired into the auxilary video input of the D2. I then want to have a secondary monitor that is receiving the auxilary video output from the D2. If the D2 is wired like this, is it possible to view video on the 2nd screen and still run navigation on the main D2 screen?

i would not be surprised if that file is able to enable dvds to play while the car is moving. pioneer has similar files for home and older car indash dvd players to enable multi region playback, so i don't see why they wouldn't have a way to get around the gyro lock out for the newer car units.
the installer guy I am using says he checked the three places that make dash kits and the first one out will be in july for the '06.
the only option he said was to get a fabricated piece which of course cost mo money. however, his prices where reasonable. my guy wants 250.00 to install and fabricate the piece, he said no cutting, and that it would fit perfect. includes mounting the xm traffic and bluetooth and steering wheel adapter so that steering wheel controls would still work.
my unit isnt here yet but should be in a couple days.
thoughts?

+1 I can confirm this as well
searched again for an update on the Z-1 bypass hack, found a site that mentioned 1 way, there is supposed to be a switch on top of the unit that you can just flip and walla presto thats it, you have to peel back a sticker in order to get to it, they say when you peel back the sticker another sticker is laid down that says "void" i cant confirm this nor do i think i want to confirm it, im still waiting on my unit that i ordered from certifieddigital.com , its been 6 days and no unit yet. dont order from there!!!
wait wait, so you mean that when the car is in motion i CANNOT use navigation functions!??!?!? so i have to park and find directions before i continue driving...? or do you mean nav functions wont work if i connect to a video out?

there is NO empty slot next to ground
grounding the parking brake wire will NOT bypass the lock out
there is NO hack as of today
the Z1 WILL send video signal from its video output so if you have other monitors in the car, they will play the dvd while moving
you WILL NOT have navi functions while driving due to the lock out

Someone just posted this on G35forum. Allows you to watch video or use nav functions when driving.
