cant wait to see pictures. i wish there was a website that would show headunits (lcd headunits especially) in action so you could see the different screens!

All I can say is wow. I finally just finished up the installation and this thing looks so clean in the dash. I am very picky about my car and this thing actually makes me smile. I mounted the processor in the glove compartment in the clubby under the mat.. worked perfect, pics tommorow when I get some sleep.

Yes mine plays DVD when I drive. I used a button and switch combo to do mine.

But the best and easiest way to do it is to use the PAC TR7. Its 27.99 and easy to install.

I also came up with the following pricing for the forum. 875.00 for the unit and 425 for the Alpine H701 processor if you want to do the addon. I am a authorized alpine retailer so covered by full alpine warranty and I can even extend for a 3 or 5 year warranty on the unit..

H701 does even more. It is a 5.1 dolby surround sound prossor with 31band eq. adjustable x-over. also has the Time correction, bass focus, Graphic equalizer or parametric Eq adjustments.

Grrrrr... I wish more of the video units offered at least a 4volt pre-out. I'll probably be going Kenwood just for that reason, but that unit is very very nice.

you can bypass the safety feature of not being able to watch DVD's while driving by by just sending the wire that is supposed to go to the E-brake and
just ground it that way it shows your sys that you are stopped when your not.

this is true with some units but not the alpines.. they are more advanced with 2 seperate brake wires one for the foot brake and one for the hand brake and a combination of both is required for it to work..

What is the model # of the head unit and what is pricing on that? Is it a nav unit? Does the unit itself play DVD? One disc slot or two? Thanks!
