seen several pics of this, and while it looks very nice, i was wondering if it was possible to have the amps recessed a bit, so that the top of the amps were flush with the surface of the amp rack. would it be as simple as cutting holes to fit the amps, and supporting it from underneath? is there room to do that?

 

There's not a bunch of depth in there. Recessing the amplifiers heats them like a bear unless you leave plenty of room for free air flow too.

The box looks big enough.



Until you stuff a speaker inside. There's about a half an inch behind the magnet there and with most speakers of this size using vented poles you need a bit of room back there to vent some of the heat out of the speaker.
