Default nice!!

Friend,

You did great I have the same gps and 6019 stereo. I have not been able to make the installation due to lack of experience. Your excellent work inspires me to take on the installation.

^^ thank you so much man. that'd be awesome! also, i was wondering where did you purchase the adapter harness system and if i needed anything else to install it? like.. mounting hardware... additional wire, etc... where did you mount the gps guy? (i saw you said you mounted the antenna by the oem antenna, pics of the location too?). I'd just like to get all the parts i can and just have it done all in one day without too many complications, hehe.

your install is great... I just ordered the ddx8017... will I need some type of template or anythign to make it fit in the stock Double Din location?

With your kenwood model.. in order to view GPS and DVD at the same time is the only thing you needed was an extra screen hooked up to the output on the kenwood deck? or is there more than just pluging that in?

Thanks for your comment! You can use the factory bracket but you will need to drill new mounting holes (see attached pic) so the headunit will sit flush with the trim piece.

You can output the dvd signal to a separate LCD screen while displaying the nav on the headunit screen. However, you can't output the nav to a separate screen. Hope this helps!

No, I still used a Metra Double Din kit and the spacers that came with the kit. The only OEM parts you will need are the metal brackets for the radio.

hey i know this thread is over a year old but just wanted to ask a question to people who might know, if you use the magnets on the oem faceplate, would the magnet hurt the lcd screen? like internals?
i thought about doing this but that was the first thing that came up on my mind, for a ddx7019.

Dude, this rocks! As soon as I put a stereo in, I'm doing this stealth install! Anyone got a spare crappy OEM radio laying around?
