Default Best Components and Subs????

Ive been trying recently to figure out what components and subwoofers are the best for the z. Ive come down to Focal or JL. Between the two, who would you pick? No matter the price, except utopias, little expensive for something i dont need. Otherwise, is there any other brands that can compete with these two? Thanks

Rich

As soon as you figure out your favorite, you will see another brand that is as tempting, better bargain, more exotic or well received in general etc... I narrowed it down to the two brands you mentioned with the Focal K2P and JL ZR comps. Then no later after narrowing it down I discovered some a/d/s really cheap, 16psi mentioned elemental design and dls... Now I own two sets of components and am still tempted by the elemental designs for the price.

So, my advice is to pick the one that sounds best at that moment, have it installed and drive away blissfully never knowing the temptation of others. Overall, it is simply what sounds best to your ears and that has nothing to do with how much you spend.

CDT and Seas Lotus come to mind. Diamond, Focal, and MBQ are all nice as well. JL is a phenomenal subwoofer/amplifier manufacturer .... and thats about where it ends

Decide if you are going to go with kick panels or just put the drivers in the doors. If you are going with kick panels then spending lots on components is okay. If you are just going to use factory locations... dont bother spending more than 200 bucks on components.

I suggest the FOCALS! I have the FOCAL 165V1's in my door and behind the seat and you can't beat the sound quality (and these are the low end FOCALS, just think what the mid and high ends would sound like). I bought mine off the internet brand new foe $199 each set. As I said the sound qaulity is amazing. I also went with the TC Custom fiberglass under strutbar box with 2 10" Rockford Fosgate woofers. Car sounds amazing. I would definately go with the FOCALS for the highs and mids, you will not be disappointed!

By the way I also forgot to mention that I have NAZAR's Door pods on my doors that the mids sit in...................wrapped in black vinyl. They look factory, you can't beat the quality and fitment for the price!
