Default Aftermarket Sub in stock bose location?!

Has anybody ever switched out their sub with an aftermarket one and put it in the stock location? How does it sound? Any rattles? Will I have a problem switching it if I have navi? I'm not going for something ridiculously loud. So let me know your opinions

I put a 10" Infinity sub-woofer into the stock position while awaiting all the parts I ordered to arrive. The results were WAY less than pleasing. The tiny Bose amplifier couldn't drive the speaker to any kind of volume. Even with a small effort at sealing the leaky "enclosure" and stuffing it with polyfoam the results were way short of pleasing.

Yes, that really is the true size of the Bose amplifier and I would be surprised if it was good for 20 watts worth of effort.

That's a larger sub-woofer than the one I experimented with but that is the real size of the Bose sub-woofer - that silver "can" between the two isn't the missing magnet from the Bloze speaker ... it's one of the adjustable pole pieces that is used to change the dVQ's "Q" factor.

I'd rather see you save your money and use an Infinity or JL "sub-woofer/amplifier/box" combination.

Since I've been slandered as a single 12" lover I give you my two 8" sub-woofers in a Zenclosure.

Ahh well see I was actually thinking about giving the sub a brand new amp. Are the amps separate from the speakers and the sub? And if that can work how deep can the subwoofer safely be? Thanks!
