i heard it's something on top of your normal lojack's recovery system and it'll let you know via alphapager/cell if your car moves w/o proper authorization.

 

i plan to get the early warning system. as a note, if you have yet to by a car and want lo-jack installed, they come right out to the dealer to install it before you even drive it off the lot. Check with your insurance companies as well, most give huge breaks for cars with lo-jack installed.

 

The companies that I talked to that did give breaks ( Geico doesn't, but still ended up having the best rate) the max was 20% off the comprehensive portion of my policy. For my policy, the comprehensive is only about 8%, and with 20% of that removed, I would have only ended up saving less that 2% of the total price of the policy.

Even though I am not saving on my insurance, I am still glad I got it. It isn't worth it to me right now to get the monitoring service, but if they decide to drop the price a bit, or offer some of the features that their competitors offer, then I might consider it. Your mileage may vary.
