Aftermarket Car Alarms
Are these essential, for the protection of your 350z ?
I understand lo-jack & other gps tracking systems are great, but my question is simply, whether or whether not I should purchase an after market car alarm.
I currently own a 2007 touring z & am not too confident in its stock alarm system, but I also would like to know if I'm paying for something that would actually benefit the Z and I.
I am considering the Viper 7900.

Practical for the price? If not, what is recommended?
Any response is appreciated !

The stock system has a few flaws, but it can be upgraded to be almost on par with the security provided by an aftermarket alarm.
The first flaw is there is no shock sensor/motion sensor. These can be added to the stock system (in single stage mode).
The second flaw is the way the system can be electronically disarmed. More info can be found here: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/245840-oem-security-system-upgrade.html

I just upgraded my alarm to the Clifford 50.5x & other add-ons. This alarm system is a lot better than the stock system. I got a good deal on it too. Bing (Simplicity In Sound) hooked me up with his friend Anthony. If anyone needs a better alarm, here is his email djmassif@hotmail.com. He is in San Jose, CA.
