Default Stereo and Nav system

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

car 06 z roadster

1st. I would like to be able to play a dvd movie and have it show on the nav screen. Is this possible.

2. I want to replace the speakers because the bose system is really noisy. I want crisp clean highs and rich deep base. Not just noise.

I dont want to change the head unit because of the steering wheel controls etc. I just want to change the speakers. Can I put a better sub in and not hae to amp it up or do i need to add an amp.

What brand of speakers sound good?

Finally is this somthing a guy can do himself or should i take it to a pro to do?

Thanks for all your help.

1. Yeah it's possible and there's a company that sells an adapter. No I don't remember their name but there was a thread on them in the last 7-10 days.

2. Have a look at the amplifiers connected to that Bose headend and you can scratch crisp and deep from your lows and your highs. The two amplifiers might put out 10-14 watts to each channel - might. The reserve power of an amplifer has a whole lot to due with the ability to accurately reproduce sounds.

Here's the inside of the four channel amplifer. I'm an electrical engineer with nearing three decades worth of experence ... and I can't find the power amplifier in this picture! There are no power transistors here - just chips and surface mount devices. This is a tiny tiny amplifier and the sub-woofer amplifier is even smaller!

3. The issue with a sub-woofer is that the best are designed with their parameters to work in a sealed or even ported box. The stock location isn't either. Some enjoy the Infinity Basslink which at least solves the whimpy amplifier with another whimpy amplifier and a better speaker in a sealed box.

My favorite speakers are Infinity Reference Standards. They're about $35,000 a set, wight a few hundred pounds, and have four six foot tall towers.

Oh, you mean for the car right? First off what kind of girls do you like?

If you have no experence I'd really hate to see you butcher the Z as your first learning experence. Go professional.
