Default audio system wiring harness

I have a 04 350Z convertable the audio system is a basic single disc unit which sounds ok but I'd like to upgrade to the sub setup. I removed the cover and looked in the compartment behind the drivers seat, the hole is there for the 10" sub and it appears there is a plug coming off the harness in that location for a sub? Amp? My Question is does anyone know if Nissan made the car with one wiring harness for all the models regardless of the sound system. I was considering buying all the better BOSE components including the 6 disc setup, amp, sub etc... off of ebay as it appears the stuff is available for cheap. I'd like to keep the car with stock components if possible but get the better system. Where is the amp located, is it in the sub compartment? thanks.

What wire colors are in the harness? Its probably the BOSE one.

I would recommend installing aftermarket amps and speakers. The Bose stuff is very poor quality. The Clarion HU is OK but its display is kinda weak.

I'll check the wire colors after work, i didn't know if the amp was in the same area as the sub, I should prob find a wiring diagram somewhere as I am having issues with some other electrical devices, such as the seat reclining buttons working intermitantly and the remote trunk release (near the licence plate) does not work either. I live in the North and the nearest installation shop and Nissan dealer is 2 hours away, not sure whether i want to trust my car to them either? I'll let you know on the wire color. My hearing isn't the best and at my age 40 plus, the bose system actually would prob sound ok to me. The sweet sound is actually the exhaust notes anyways, TTYL, Gord

The amp for the sub is in the same location as the sub itself. Facing the sub, its mounted behind the plate and to the left of the sub. The connector housing is brown (at least on the '06).

The amp for the 4 HF speakers is located in the very rear corner of the driver's side.

Ok I checked the wires in the sub area location. There are many wires that dead end with plug ins for accessories that are not being used, one is large with about 8-10 wires, 3 are paired up separately. 4 plugs all toll. Does anyone know what accessories or purpose all these wires are for? A wiring diagram would be great if anyone knows where I can find one on line? Does the amplifier mount vertically and hang from the 2 brackets in the sub area? Thanks Gord
