Default New model Kappas

Just installed my Infinity Kappa coaxials in the front this weekend. Now this is my third experience with infinity kappa, and I have always been impressed, but these not only look much different but they put out hella bass. I dont have my sub hooked up yet, so its great, but seems like coaxials never did put out any bass. They still have great sound quality, but does anyone know if infinity radically changed their design or there has been a movement in non-component speakers to add more bass?
P.S. these are just running off my head unit with no amp (22 watts rms).

The Kappas sound good off the non-Bose head unit in the Enthusiast? I was thinking of replacing my front speakers with them and I presently do not have plans to replace the head unit (I like the steering wheel controls). Had some Kappas 2 cars ago and they were great.

Damn - thanks - I guess I will have to replace that down the road too.

Is there any way to get the steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket head unit?

Anyone?

I have these speakers installed with the stock head unit non bose.
It sounds great but you can't crank it really loud as the head is a little bit under powered.

So do these mount in the doors and a replacement tweeter in the stock tweeter location?

Would be looking for something to drive with a basic powered HU.

Thanks.....

No. These are coaxials, meaning they have the tweeter mounted on top of the driver cone. You must only mount the one piece in the door and then you are done. No drilling or cutting or getting into the stock tweeter location. It is simply left playing unless you want to cut the wires to it.

I have had great experiences with kappa's in the past also and was thinking about putting in the 63.7i's in the front and the rear. Are there any modifications needed for the rear spots to fit the 63.7i's?

Also, I havent seen any pics of how the front looks using the 63.7i's and the spacers. Does the stock speaker cover fit or do you need to leave it off?
