Default External fans for cooling down amp

What are you guys using to cool down your amp? I have a Pheonix Gold Anniversary MS2125 with two 10 inch JL Audio w3v2 d4. I make long trips of 1 hour or more daily and the amp tends to shut down due to overheating. Even after only playing for 30 minutes the amp is very hot to touch. I would like to enjoy my music more but I need a way to cool down the amp. Thanks!

partsexpress.com carries some small inexpesive fans that work perfect. I use 2 of them to cool my Fosgate amps.

What position are you placing your fans at? I have a g35 coupe with a custom enclosure that's placed behind the rear seats so I barely get any airflow inside the trunk. Here's a picture

The hot and humid Louisiana air isn't exactly helping either. How do you think I should position the fans so the air can flow freely?

Where are these amps mounted? Most quality amps shouldn't cut out unless you are running the gains too high, you have the amps mounted at an incorrect angle or they are in an area with zero airflow across them.

The amp is mounted on the left side of the trunk as shown in the picture. Due to the enclosure, the trunk gets very little airflow in it. I would like to keep the enclosure and find out another way to cool the amp down. My Infiniti 611a amp didn't get even close to the heat level of the Pheonix Gold. I had no problems with that amp overheating on long trips.

Almost all the installs ive done for friends or myself Ive used computer fans. They cost around 3-8$ depending on size noise and air movement. Can even get the neon lit ones if u want for a few bucks more. Also they run on 12v which is the same as most amps need . Just make sure u wire them right and make sure air flow makes sense example 2 fans --> amp/amp --> not something stupid like <-- amp/amp -->

With the amp where you gave it, you shouldn't be experiencing any shut off problems. I'd definitely check the gains and make sure they're not set too high.

That would work except that he'll likely just compensate with additional rotation of the volume control to bring the amplitude back up. It sounds more like a manufacturer's engineering defect as 30 minutes worth of full volume in a car ought to not sent the amplifier into thermal shutdown.

I run a tiny whisper quiet fan between my pair of amplifiers just to get some air movement.

MS series of amps run very hot. There is nothing wrong with the amp. They just like propper cooling. An amp in an enclosed space is not propperly installed.
