Update:

I received the license plate cam I posted above. Besides being a plastic POS, there isn't a chance in hell it will fit the Z without A) looking stupid as it sits 2 inches from the body and B) obscures access to the trunk button.

So I guess I'm stuck getting the one Bubble shows, even though I don't like it. Hopefully it will look better in black.

Bubble, I will PM you. But for everyone else could you post the manufacturer and model of your camera frame? For some reason I am having trouble finding it again on google.

Thx

Anyway, I dunno the make and model of Bubble's, but I did find it on autotoys.com Not a bad price either. Should have got this one to begin with, but the images for the one I ordered were misleading, looking like a flat fitment. But the camera is behind the frame, and they designed the frame all the way around it. Must just be for trucks. Live and learn!

See, it's one like that that I was originally looking at (see first post). But decided to go with the cam-in-frame solution because it afforded less cutting, etc to the car. Plus I'm getting a vanity plate (if approved), and in TX there aren't a lot of spots on a vanity plate where I can mount a cam and not upset the authorities (eg., the best place would be within the state name, and they don't kindly to plate modification in that area.

Anyway, I ordered a black version of Bubble's frame so we'll see how that looks. If I don't like it after it's installed then I can always sell it and move back to the mount like you have.

Thx for the pic!

Hey Bubbles, or anyone else that has this camera, is it a "mirror image" camera? By that I mean when you look at your monitor does it look just like it would in a mirror? Left side is on the left, and right side is on the right?

Thanks for all your help on this topic too!

Most backup cameras (including the ones shown in this thread) reverse the image automatically, so that you don't have to transpose left/right in your head when you are backing up.

Does this require any drilling into the bumper? I had put of getting one of these because I know i'd be selling in a year or two and wanted to make sure everything I did to the car was easily reversed. I didn't think these needed any, but the description on ebay makes it sound like it does.

edit:
Looks like the same one, but even cheaper. Can't seem to find any black ones on ebay though http://cgi.ebay.com/License-Plate-Fr...QQcmdZViewItem

Yup, I know. And to think I found it without knowing the brand or model or anything!

I've never met anyone so secretive about the add-ons they've chosen Bubble. lmao You crack me up. Guess I shouldn't be surprised...you've proven to be odd in the past as well.

that nice too but the cam in the middle would give you more better view (not goes to the left or right too much)

I'm just too lazy to dig up the box that has the name on it. In the past, i post at least 2 threads about this back up cam and provided link to ebay as well. Again, too lazy to dig it up in here.
