Need advice on choosing/configuring amp setup
I currently have the following installed:
Alpine CDA-9835, MB Quart PSD 216s in front and Polk DB675 coaxials in the rear. I just purchased a JL stealthbox (deal I couldnt refuse) and I'm looking for some advice on amp(s). I listen to rock and jazz mostly and want good sound and some power but I dont really need or want window rattling bass. I bought the subs mainly because my current system has no bottom end whatsoever.
I'm considering the following:
1 JL 300/4 - 2 channels to the Quarts, other 2 bridged to the Stealthbox, and then just run the Polks off of my head unit since I keep them at low levels anyway. This method = small investment now with room to upgrade later.
What do u guys think?

That will work.
If you deside to go bigger you move the subwoofer of the four channel amplier and run it off it's own dedicated amplifier. If I were you I'd run three sets of RCA cables back to the location where you're mounting your four channel amplifier. I would also run the power cable back there a bit heavier too - enough to run a second amplifier.
The difference in parts cost isn't going to be that much more but you'll save the labor later on of having to run the cables when/if you ever up grade.

Hey, this is what I recommend you and it is what I will have installed next week on my Z.
with the JL stealthbox - the JL 500/1 - Mono Class D Amp.
This baby will set you back for about $300
(look around).
the JL 300/4 will go the 4 Speaker
2 JL XR650-CSi (Component) in Front
2 JL XR650-CXi (Full-range) in the Back.
If you don't want to get 2 Amp, them run the speakers of the stereo and get the JL 500/1 for the stealthbox. Don't recommend using the 300/4 for the sub because you will be losing lot of power off those Subs
. Don't go for the "e" series of JL either because they don't really distribute equal power and the it will start sounding weird
