head unit ppower qquestion
hey, first of all this is not for a Z, but my forum doesnt answer my questions so im going to ask here....
on july 4th i crashed my car and yesterday i got it back (it is a 2000 MK4 Golf) and when you turn the headlights on, the stereo lights up along with the cd player, but when you press powere nothing happens....so there is power to ligt the buttons up but there isnt power to make the thing work?
and the weird thing is, i hit the front of the car, noone ever touched the HU

There are normally three +12 VDC power inputs:
1) Illumination - this is a variable input so that you can dim the lights and the color schemes can be changed in headends with screens.
2) Accessory - this power source tells the radio to go on and off with the ignition key.
3) Battery - this is a constant source of power which keeps the radio memory fresh and allows for retractable screens to pull back dwon into the dash. It's also the main power for the amplifiers once the accessory power turns on and trips a solid-state relay.
