Default No radio all static

I installed my new HU its a pioneer DEH-P80MP and my radio reception is horrible. Every channel cuts in and out and you can barly hear anything it's very staticy. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I was told that I might need an adapter because maybe the plug isnt long enough and not connecting well with the units input. Any help would be great. Thanks

Sorry I think I found the answer. Is it connecting the blue wire to the blue wire?

Check to make sure that the antenna is plugged securely into the new HU, and make sure that the antenna plug is not loose or bent. If your using an antenna adapter which I dont think the 350Z does check that connection also.

Not sure of the wire color, but you need to connect the power antenna wire...this happens a lot to people that change their hu...search for power antenna and you should find the answer

+1 Look carefully though, some say specifically NOT to connect the power antenna but that sounds like the probable issue.

The Z's antenna has a powered booster. You will need to supply the booster with 12vdc before you can get reception
