I have an 03 Touring with Nav, and sometimes when i turn it on, it will say,
Navigation says: "please wait" and Navi doesn't come on. At that point I have to pull the disc out of the dvd player and load it up again and it starts workin fine again...Has anyone experienced this...? It doesn't mention anything of this in the manual and the troubleshooting...I have version 6.1 in there right now. Which looks like it might have been an upgrade from the one it came with (ves 6.0).

Any thoughts/answers.suggestions?? Is my dvd player going bad...?

Maybe the reader needs to be cleaned. You will probably need to take it in. A number of 03-04 Nissan had NAV problems, they'll replace it if the car is still under warranty. They had to replace mine along with the bus cable and little NAV door cover.

 

Thanks for the input, I will try cleaning it tonite with a disc cleaner. Its very possible that it got dusty in there and the reader gets dirty. Hopefully that will do the trick. .Otherwise i'm in for it at the dealer. I am out of Warranty at this point.

Also check the disc for scratches or fingerprints.

 

My dvd rom drive went out after that started happening to my car.....beware..... if its in warranty have it checked. jg.
