Hi, I screwed up and should have got the harness adapter when I had the chance... anyways I am now looking at the wires that come out of the factory head unit and they do not match what is posted on this thread as far as the colors mentioned and what mine really are:

Buy a wiring harness from BestBuy for $17 and save yourself this hassle.

From the sound of his post. Im figuring he cut off the end that the adaptor would plug to (The end that used to plug into the back of his old HU). So unless he reconnects the plastic adaptor to his end, the one from best buy would do nothing at this point.

I bought a harness as a helper to see which wires need attached to the wires in the factory harness and it works just fine except the dimmer (at night when headlights are on the face of the cd player should dim).

Which wire in the factory harness goes to the cd player's dimmer wire?
