Default stereo gurus please help amp question

all my equip is w/in a few months old and has worked perfectly until today. first let me state i just installed a engine ground kit last night. I dont believe this would do anything, but everything worked fine before. any way my component amp went into fault mode, any suggestions what to start checking first? like i said all eqiup is new and has been in perfect working order for the 4-5 months, and no changes except installing a engine ground kit last night?

1st step, disconnect the speakers/subs/whatever, power it on and see if it still goes into fault mode.

If you unhook the speakers and it still goes into fault, unplug the inputs next. If it still goes into fault with nothing more than +12v, gnd, and remote hooked up, you have a problem w/ the amp.

On the other hand, if you unplug the speakers, and the fault goes away, thats generally an impedance issue. Either you may have bad wiring, or possibly a melted voice coil, etc.
