Default Headunit recommendation..

Now that the '06 dash kit is out, I'm in need of a headunit. I want a single DIN headunit, it needs to hook up to an iPod, and it needs to have changable colors (as in, I can make it look amber-ish to match the Z's dash).
Also, this is going to be replacing the HU on my stock (non-bose) system, and as of right now, it is going to be my only audio upgrade. So, I need one with good sound.

**Oh, most important thing! It needs to be affordable. I don't want one of those insane $800 HU's**

The alpine 9855 turns the buttons red and amber. It can also do just about any color combo on the main buttons. I think you can change the button colors on alot of clarions also.

JVC AVX-N1 or AVX-N2
3.5 inch lcd built in (N2, 3" for N1 I think)
dvd player built in
all other regular cd functions
Can be had for about 400 bucks for the N1 and closer to 450-500 for N2
both have ability to control ipod with adaptor from JVC

On top of that add a farenheit 7" lcd monitor for you cubby hole and you have my future system here are some pics:

avx n1 my personal favorite

If you want a really good SQ unit with good features and a great ipod interface I would check out the Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS.
It doesn't change to amber but the illumination is either blue or white. The blue is actually a good contrast to all the orange in the Z.
You can purchase the deck for about $350 online.
It has 24 bit DAC, awesome eq setup, tons of other features. And it has a sweet ipod interface. The ipod control is about as close to the actual ipod as I've seen. You basically use one of the dials to scroll through your choices like album/playlist/artist. The scrolling is pretty fast. I can get to any album in a few seconds and I have about 200 on mine. The interface is way better than the one on the Alpine I had(9835, i think).
As an added bonus, I think the deck looks great in the Z. It has brushed aluminum strips on the top and bottom that make it look like it was meant for the car.
