mini mac in 06 z cubby
i wanna put a mini mac in the cubby of my 06 base and run my avic d2 as the monitor. will this work. i know it wont fit but can i ut it bigger and put it in. can i run the mac through my avic d2? help would be appreciated
I was interested in the same thing. I had plans to do it in my 06 and ended up abandoning the idea. The thought of a mac mini in the car is so sweet, but, its really expensive, its hard to do because there are very few people with the know how to get it done right and I am not sure that the mac world is ready for in car use yet. All the navigation programs leave a lot to be desired, and you still have to fumble through the operating system in order to get things running. There is one guy who did it in his Z and it looked really really pimp:

As for working with the D2, I dont see why not. You do need a special power supply:

What exactly were you trying to get from having the mini in your car? I found that I can get mostly everything out of a normal nav unit with and iPod adapter and bluetooth phone connection. Let me know. I have an intel MacMini 1.6 with 100 gig HD and a gig of ram if you are interested. I also have a D2 unit what was used in my last car for about 3 months. Both are seriously mint condition. Let me know how things workout.
