Do you think this would be a good stereo setup?

You should not need an EQ...I am a tweaker, and I like to play around with my sounds. My EQ is just something that I revived from my car stereo (USAC and IASCA) show circuit days. You probably will not need one. In fact most newer head units, like my Pioneer Premier, have built in Equalization. I can adjsut certain frequenxy spots in the low end, midrange and high end on my head unit. I thought about getting the ALpine 7995, as it is a really nice head unit, so it probably ahs some builkt in EQ functions. If you go with the JL seperates, you can knock the tweeter output down on the crossover, but htis will need to be done at the time of installation. If your crossovers are in the doors, it will be a pain to have to change those jumpers after your door panels are reinstalled...

Thanks again. I guess I'll rely on the expertise of Nazar and his boys for fine tuning the system before everything is put back together.

I will probably change out the rear speakers for something better later. I know that the originals sound terrible now so I just turn them down. Sound coming from the front has good imaging and is very clear.

Having rear speakers is your choice. They don't cost much compared to the rest so you can try and see. Switching all the power to the front two is easy once the system is in.

There is no doubt that the system still needs a sub. The bass that the stock speakes had was much stronger, but they sounded crappy.

I'm trying to get great sound, but don't need it real loud, so I may go with a JL250/1 amp and the 10W3V2.

Sounds like you're on the right track. I'm sure once you finish it it will sound awesome.

Why even use rear speakers? Im my car I prefer hearing all the sounds coming from the front. Ive had quite a few sub setups and I'm waiting for my 10w7s to come in. Ive heard a ported 10w7 off of a 500/1 and it was LOUD. 500/1 should be more then enough in a hatch like the 350z. I should be receiving my JL Xr comps in a couple of days. If you want, I can compare them to my Focal Utopias, and let you know what I think. I will be running my 10w7s off of a US Amps 2000x, so I should have sufficient power. As for EQs they can really help you out depending on install. When I had dynaudios installed the eq didnt really help me out that much, but with my Utopias it helps out drastically. Keep that in mind. I say try it out without the eq, and if you feel like something is missing, or you hear sibilance then try an eq out.

I just oredered a bunch of stuff from Nazar. I opted for MB Quart Q series components, JL 10w6v2, JL 300/2, Jl 500/1, JL vr600cx for the rear and his custom sub box. Also the Alpine 9815, wich Nazar uses. I looked at the 7998 w/o an internal amp, but chose the 9815 to run the rear speakers. They need such little power, so to me It wasn't worth it to buy the 300/4 amp and this is cheaper. The 9815 also looks very cool. The only bad thing is that I don,t have my car yet, so I can't tell you how anything sounds.
Good luck,
Matt

onecoolee,
Where are you going to buy the carpet for your sub encloser? I may need some and wondered where to look for it.
Thanks,
Matt[
