I am planning on buying new speakers for my z, i was wondering if someone would give me suggestions for front and rear speakers..which ones do you guys prefer?

 

Unless you are doing video don't bother with the rear speakers.

Anyway, the brands I prefer are:
Boston
Image Dynamic
Diamond
Rainbow

Other brands that are I like but will probably never buy again:
MB Quartz
Polk
I'm sure I forgot some that I like but slip my mind right now...

Honestly though, except for Boston and maybe Diamond, I doubt I'll ever go with any other brands. To this day it's hard to find a speaker set that sounds as good as Boston Pros (some are close now and some run with them, but at higher costs its not worth it). And since the release of the Boston Reference Z6 speakers I've yet to find anything under a grand that is worth thinking about. Rainbow Reference speakers are still probably the absolute best I've heard in car audio but at a price over a grand (actually way over a grand), I'm out.

For every response though there will be a different opinion, go listen to as many speakers as you can and go with what you like best, it's too personal of a choice as to what to get. The only other thing I can say is, don't limit yourself and listen to as many as possible. I've only listed a few of a vast number of speakers out there.

 

the JL evolution series has some great speakers for the price.. Xr650 - csi, and the xr650 - cxi would be great in the z.

Speakers are very subjective. you need to go listen to as many as you can before making decision. Some might sound good to you but might sound horible to others. Good luck and trust ur ears..
