Default Kenwood DDX6019 playing DVD while driving

I just installed the DDX6019 and tried the grounding trick with the green wire but it still will not let me play a DVD. I didn't try attaching it to the actual parking brake wire but when I put a DVD in I get the audio, but no video. I tried grounding it in 3 different places to no avail. Since this is a brand new unit, could kenwood have changed it so that it MUST be hooked up to the parking brake? Are there any other trick and if not, which is the parking brake wire?

Don't know if this will help but with my kenwood I have to change the function to something else. I'll check later its to late and I'm going to bed.

Pretty sure its the ground or just Video select?
I grounded my DDX7017 to the harness grounding. Worked fine.
If that doesn't work, try messing around with the source button or the Video select button. I was freaking out once when I popped in a DVD and couldn't get the video working. Got a black screen until I hit the Video button a few times.

+1 That is exactly what happened to me. The screen does not automatically click over, but you should hear sound.

GL, and let us know if the video select doesn't work.

Just so I have this..the dvd loads and goes to a blue screen with the function keys (play, pause,FF, etc.) what is the video source that you guys are talking about? The manual doesn't explain this very well

So you fixed the problem?

If anyone else has this problem, I would suggest taking it to an auto shop and have someone install a hidden switch that will "trick" your car into thinking the emergency brake is on. My roomate has this and it works fine and plays dvds while he drives.
