Something I have been thinking about...
I was wondering if I decided to keep the stock unit could I get good sound from it if I replace and do the following...
dynomat
nice sub install
replace all the speakers
install a really nice amp
I want to keep it looking stock from dash but if it means the sound quality will blow I may go the other way.
Oh ya, this is not the bose stock system. I have an Enthusiast

I had the Bose system, and did exactly as you suggested above, but I was still extremely disappointed with the overall sound quality...those factory/oem head units are just not good for overall sound quality and frequency response.
I ended up switching to a Pioneer Premier head unit, and my system sounds great, but with the Bose factory hu, it was flat, and not dynamic at all, with almost no bass output.
Again, this was the case for the Bose HU, but I can't imagine the stock, non-Bose being much different, and God help it, if its any worse then the Bose...ughh !

I am truly blessed with 2 cars that are a kick to drive. The S8 is like a large sport car; fast and nimble with a ride that is hard to describe. I'm a lucky dude.
