Default Audio Experts, I got a quote, what do you think?

I went to a reputable shop here in orlando, they do a lot of work for all the big stars that live here locally (basketball players etc.) and this is what they quoted me:

Install :

Head Unit
Front Components
Custom Fiberglass box for 1 10 that will fit under Z strut bar

Custom Amp rack to fit above spare w/ some flare (possible neon, and mirror)
4gauge amp kit
RCAs
Dash Kit
Wiring harness
Antenna adapter? If applicable (is this needed?)

$1000.00

Is this a good deal or should I shop around?

So it's your equipment and this is an installation charge only, right? If so, I think the price is reasonable considering this price includes a custom box and amp rack.

That is correct, I am supplying

Pioneer DEH-P840MP
JL Audio XR650-CSI Components
JL Audio 300/4
JL Audio 10" sub

Not going to purchase rear fills at the moment, since they are not quite as important.

Plan on running the rears off the HU
Components and sub off the 300/4

Those prices seeem pretty fair to me, but I can only assume that you already have the goods (head unit, components, etc.) You can probably shop around and save $25 here and there off certain parts of your install, but if these guys are reputable, and you have a good idea of what you will end up, I think its all fair. If you hunt around in these forums, you will notice that most people are paying $500+ for the sub enclosure alone...so if you are getting a nice amp rack, wiring, head unit install, etc, I think this is right on track.

thanks

I knew you had some of this equipment and I have always liked JL Audio. I am trying to keep it simple and have a nice clean sounding system with tight bass.

I have all my parts except wires and have allready removed the interior paneling and old equipment... And I had a guy quote me $700 for installing:
LCD
HU
6 Speakers
1 Sub in factory location
5 Channel amp

needless to say, I'm doing it myself.

I would like to do this myself but I dont have much experience. I know how to install an amp but i have never pulled off any door panels etc. I would hate have to have a bunch of rattles because I didnt put it back together correctly. I could probably save almost $500 bucks by doing the HU, Components, and amp myself. Oh well its only money.......
