So I've been trying to do a carputer install in my 2005 Z Roadster (Bose w/o Nav). I've ordered all the parts, and have installed a 7" Xenarc into a 2003 cubby. But I'm having a heck of a time getting the dash out (even with the guides) and getting the cables to glove compartment. I've already damaged two wiring harnesses and don't want to do any more damage.

I've spent enough time on this, and am looking for someone in the Orlando area (I can go to Daytona Beach or to Tampa if necessary) that can finish the job. I need them to install my AAI PAC-NISS2 and route the RCA cables to the glove compartment. Replace the 2005 cubby with the 2003 cubby I have and route the VGA / USB cables to the glove compartment; and also run some 4 gauge cable from the battery, to the glove compartment.

There are tons of shops around here, there are of course the Best Buy and Circuit Citys, but also Sound Advice, Time N Sound, Audio Excellence, etc. I have never dealt with any of them. Can anyone here recommend an installer that can help me finish this install? I will pay more for a clean install that will hold up over time.

Cool, thanks for the recommendation. Is there a particular location you know of (I see 4 in Orlando) that's better, or am I good going to any of them? The Colonial Drive location is not far from where I live, so I'll take a drive down there Monday or Tuesday and talk to them.

 

See if Marty is still @ the Colonial location. Not sure which store he is @ now. They all do quality work. Also send a PM to Roncfpz. I think Audio Excellence did his system which is top notch. I'm not sure though.

 

I had an alarm put in by "audio excellence by wes" in daytona beach, it was a DISASTER!!! The guy didn't know what he was talking about, made me come back 4 times and ended up charging much more than planned and now I never use the alarm because it falses every 5 minutes... I wasted a grand...

 

I haven't had real great luck with Audio Excellence in Oveido. The install work is satisfactory but they always take longer (by a day) longer than estimated because they get backed up.

Additionally, they've never tuned my HU or amps as promised. I had to wait around until about 7 or 8 p.m. for them to finish the install on the Z. I was so irratated that I drove off without listening to the system very well. All of the speakers and subs, Sirius and iPod were all working so I was done with them. On the way home I decided to crank it up. It was horrible! I got home and realized that none of the gains/crossovers were set correctly (all sitting at factory settings) and the HU settings were screwed up as well. After 10 minutes in my garage, I had everything tuned and sounding great.

I'm going to Ultimate Audio from now on based on the OZOC recommendations.

 

I think that ones different than the one here in Orlando. They know what there doing cause Ron's install is sick

 

Thanks for the help everyone. I haven't had a chance to visit any of the stores mentioned in this thread yet, because of a friend's wedding that's coming up.

Once all that's over, I'm definitely going to check out these places.
