Im curious as to the best set up for lowbass and nice rock bass in the Z for about 800?

Been interested in the JL 10s/12ws and also the infiniti speakers, but i dunno what set up would best result in good sound all hooked up, 2 amps, or 1 yada yada

sorry, my roomate is a wiring expert but doesnt know $$ for best audio =\

Put your ear to the speakers and see which you like best with your music.

At just $800 you're cutting it pretty tight if you plan on entertaining the people down the block or blowing your ears out.

Figure $100 for a Zenclosure box.

Figure $400 for speaker(s).

Figure $250 for the amplifier (you're only getting one at this budget point)

And finally $50 for the amplifier wiring kit cost.

If you toss in another $300-$500 you'll open up your choices a bunch and can look at nearly any speaker and amplifier combination and have the ability to destroy your hearing really quickly.

My budget was similar to yours and I got very pleasing results from my combination of Infinity 10dVQ ($200 each) and the REF611A 600 watt amplifier ($250). I tend to want to limit my exposure to excessive sound levels to minimize any further hearing damage enjoying fantastic full range sound quality (for a car!) rather than the typical thump-thump-thump which passes for "music" today.

Do you need the entire space in your Z? This will help decide if you can go with 10's or 12's. You can fit a 12 with some work under the strut bar, but your easiest bet is one of the prefab boxes. These prefab boxes will allow you to keep some storage space in the rear. www.wickedcas.com makes has a box for 1 10" that fits in the rear corner of the vehicle. It's called 'magicbox' I think.

In your price range, I'd go with 1 speaker instead of two and you can lean more towards quality.

Dang paul ive liked your system since you put it in, ive been reading a lot of audio installs and they are all great but you are definately the person i wanted to have chime in on this...

my budget isnt really 800 i just wanted to see what that would give me, cause if i said 1200 or more then people would give me the whole "you have anything you want" ad wouldnt give me DEEP thinking choices like your able to do

but i wouldnt wanna copy your system in anyway cause thats not fun
