Friends,
I am going to hardwire my Bel RX65 via a hardwire smartcord that I purchased. Wiring it to my rearview mirror is not an option becuase I have a base model and the mirror is not powered. Everything that I came across with the search suggested to wire it into the mirror. Not going to happen.
My question to those that have hardwired into the actual fusebox is which fuse did you actually use and where is a suitable ground? Pics of the ground would be great if they are available. Thanks in advance for the help

I ran the flat cable from my V1 up inside the headliner just buy tucking it in up there. I pulled the "A" pillar off and taped the cable to the existing cable already in there and then dropped the end down the hole in the dash structure created when you pull the "A" pillar plastic off. From there it was a short dash though a couple of self adhesive cable stand-off mounts and to the back of the cigerette lighter plug. Two red 3M scotch lock connectors (the same type Nissan uses) onto the pair of wires and I was done.
The radar detector is a very low drain - less than a few watts.

Paul,
Thanks for the tips. What color is the ground wire and what color is hot? I haven't gotten under there to look yet. I am still at work. Did you have to remove any trim to get to the back?
This seems like a better way than trying to monkey with cramming the wire into the little fuse thing. Thanks again for the help
