Default 2006 Stock Nissan OEM Navigation -- can you shut it off?

I know you can shut the display... but can you turn the thing off? The standard Mercedes Navi has a power button so you turn it on when you need it.

Looks like this thing is just on all the time?! I been looking through the instruction manual... I don't see any way to turn it off.

Seems kinda dumb shutting off the display when the thing is still on.

There is no separate power button (or combo for that matter). It could very well be that shutting off the display turns the unit off. But since the disc spin can only be heard while the system is looking up info (or at initial startup) and that can't be done with the screen turned off, how do you even know that the unit is on after shutting off the screen? I don't hear a peep from mine with the screen off.

To test this, you could put on route guidance and then turn off the screen. If the voice commands remain (I think they do) then the Nav is still active with the screen off.
