Hmmm... interesting. I wonder what the total cost came out to.

 

IF...and I mean a BIG if you know what you are doing, the parts for the conversion in htis web link, including a mobile DVD player ($200), are probably around $600-700. The time involved, could be 10+ hours with no guarantees it will work. The 2 nav systems should be identical, but no one, at this point, knows for sure. Unless I could verify that the part numbers were identical, I wouldn't make any guarantees that the same nav conversion would work in a G35 and 350Z.

Pioneer GEX-P7000 tv tuner - $300
Mobile DVD Player - $200
Pioneer TV antenna - $100
IR misc parts, wires, connectors, etc. $50
TOTAL $650

Personally, my time is pretty valuable, and I would go with the solution I chose (http://www.video-nav.com) over rigging something myself with ratshack parts. Weatehr and temperature in my area of the country is not predictable, so I opted for something that would be stable in the cold winters as well as the hot humid summers. I paid only a little more for my nav conversion, and I got a PS2, tv tuner, and a backup camera option. I have only had everything working for a couple days, but so far, I really like it !
