im on a budget for under $300 and i want a dvd/mp3/cd player. i couldn't find many reviews on them and i tried searching on here for each model and scanned back a couple pages of the search results here at work. opinions, suggestions, and advice please.

a. clarion vs755, $140, no detachable face

b. jensen vr9610, $230

c. sony mexr5, $290

i dont want/need any "pyle" of **** sarcastic suggestions either. thanks in advance

(to any smart *****, yes i already have a screen and a viper alarm)

Just stay away from the lower brands and after that You get what you pay for. The closer you get to your budget without going over. I think you will be with it.

I bought the Alpine DVA-somesh*t. Only single din DVD/CD head unit alpine offers without a screen. Sounded like dog sh*t. Not to mention the DVD/CD player got stuck on the 1st CD. Alpine is now made in china. I wouldn't buy one.

I returned that and bought a JVC KD-AVX2. When I think of JVC, I think B quality HUs, but this one has been working fine for about 9 months, has everything built in, and has a 3.5" wide screen to boot. Well worth the $400 I paid. Retail is $650, so you'll have to find a good hook-up to come in under budget. Definately worth a look.....I used everything from Clarion, Eclipse, Pioneer, and Alpine to Mcintosh, Nakamichi, and Denon. This unit beat out every brand except Mcintosh and Denon in SQ.
