Default Amp to Sub conection - is this right?

To connect my Amp to sub, should I connect the sub voice coils (2 @2ohms each) in series to obtain 4 ohms for the amp? (I'm thinking that if I cononect it in parrellel to get 1 ohm I would have too much current going through it)

Amp:
Kicker 5-Channel Amplifier (06ZX7005) 06ZX7005
-70 watts RMS X 4 ch
-“subwoofer channel that delivers 210 watts of Class-D power to one 4-ohm sub—or 420 watts to two 4-ohm subs (2-ohm total load).”

Sub:
Kicker 10" Subwoofer (CVR10) 05CVR102
Peak power: 600 Watts
RMS power: 300 Watts
Frequency response: 25 – 500 Hz
Impedance: Dual 2 Ohms
Sensitivity: 85.5 dB
Cabinet: Ported - 1.25; Sealed - 0.8
Sealed box: 0.8 - 3.0 ft^3

thanks for the help!

-Peter

*I tried searching for a few hours and couldn't find a similar set-up with enough details.

You got the wrong subwoofer or amplifier.

The subwoofer's coils are 2-ohm.

The amplifier wants a pair of 4-ohm outputs.

You can't get there from here.

You needed a dual 4-ohm woofer to gather as much power from the amplifier as possible without blowing it up. The best you can do is half the amplifier power - 210 watts across your pair of 2-ohm coils in series.

thanks paul - I just realized the difference between the 2 identical 10" kicker subs that were online...either 2 or 4 ohms - good thing I didn't open the box yet.

thanks again!
