Default alpine head unit question

ok so i want to get an AVIC-N1 eventually or any nice head unit with nav....but for now im really strapped for cash and i just want a decent head unit (alpine) so that i can throw all my speakers in with it at the same time...i went to crutchfield and was looking at the cde 9852 or the cda 9856...they are both ipod ready which is wat i need....the 9856 has three preamp outputs...should i spend the extra 20-30 bux on the 9856 for the outputs even though ill upgrade to a double din later?? also i have a ps2 and a fahrenheidt screen going in and im iffy about puttin in my alpine 6 cd changer

if you are going to upgrade why not just wait until you have the money saved up

I have the 9857 and I love it! Spend the extra money. If you try to go cheap, you will almost always regret it later. my .02

If you want to to use your iPod with the HU.. then go with the CDA-9857 -- it has a better "iPod-like" display. If you don't use the iPod much in your car then the 9856 is good value.

Remember that the Consumers Electronics Show is typically held in January -- that is when new products are introduced. By Christmas the 2006 models are being put on sale in anticipation of the new 2007 models
