Help with Infinity Setup
Ok i got a hook up on infinity speakers so i'm going all infinty system.
Speakers
Infinity Kappy Perfect 6.1
Infinity Kappa 652.7i
Subs
2 x Infinity Kappa Perfect 10d VQ
Amps
Infinity Reference 611a
Infinity Reference 7541a
Box
Zenclosure Dual 10" box with amp space
My question is... do you guys think I will need to buy any more accessories to make sure that the system fits my car. I know some people go with PODs for the front speakers, but I don't really want to use that.
Do you guys think the amp is enough power or too much power? I really am a newbie when it comes to systems. I just went to cardomain.com and picked out some stuff... don't really know if they go together.

Call me lazy, but I don't feel like looking up the stats on your equipment. What is the rms output at 4 ohms for your front channel amp and for your sub amp. How many channels is the sub amp, and will you bridge it?
What is the power rating for your speakers?
If the fronts are pushed by 70-100 watts rms and the rear subs are 3-5 times that amount, you should be fine. I had to buy an equalizer since my head unit didn't have much adjustability. I assume you already have wiring kits, Dynamat, etc.
My experienc wth stereo systems is: buy stuff, try to make it sound right, buy more stuff, try to fix the remaining problems, pull stuff out, reconfigure, add sound deadening, tune more, buy stuff, tune, make kick panel enclosures, fine tune more, etc. Eventually you are happy. It's always a work in progress, searching for the perfect setup. Every install you learn more, and you spend less time to get it right.

No pods.
Rather than running my rear speakers 3-5 times louder I run them 3-5 times quieter. They barely are noticable and just put out a bit of sound to fill in the back a bit.

For my headend I went with the Pioneer AVIC N2 because I wanted an in dash navigation system that folded up and out of the way. When I pop the removable portion of the front display off it look like there's no radio there at all - no chrome or display showing.

The 6-disc CD player went in the passenger's side rear map cubby hole and the brain for the AVIC when under the passenger's seat.

The amplifiers went where the Bose subwoofer was on a dual layer rack I made.

so far i got NOTHING in the car...
thanks for all your help

No the front windows don't hit the speakers
I did end up mounting them in a handmade plywood frame made of two layers of plywood. The first one is 3/4" thick and the second one was 1/2" giving me about 1.20" of thickness as one inch wasn't enough. I also moved the center of the speaker down and forward a bit to center the speaker more in the thickest part of the door skin. It's a tight fit but can be done.
The twin 10" woofers are nice. They're not used to half of their ability in my use so if your not interested in altering your hearing for the worse you can probably get by with one woofer. The two look sweet and just sort of coast along with that much power.
I put in about 65-75 sq.ft. of FatMat doing everything behind the seats and the front wheel wells and inside the doors.
The goal on my system was stealth and an accurate clean sound. I'm debating removing the rear speakers from the amplifier and just bridging those channels to the front or even doing a tri-amp set up with an active equalizer/crossover spliting the highs, lows, and bass freqencies for the six channels worth of amplifiers installed. I would have to run a second set of wires into the doors for the tweeter's inputs which I don't look forward to doing. I'm still waiting for someone to make some "A" pillar pods for 1" tweeters.

Will i have to say make or buy the front door pods. They really do make a world of difference in sound. I had the Infinity Reference 6.5 in front mounted like stock, but i recently made my pods, and what a difference it made.

Now they are in the pods, and the back of them are isolated from the hollow door with a dynamat over the speaker opening.
Paul350z, you should try making your own "A" pillar pods. Made my own door pods

Hey Paul350z, I'm using the sam two amps you have. Just finnished tonight. Anyway, I'm getting lots of hissing from my front and rear infinity reference series even when turning volume all the way down on the Eclipse 5435 gps unit. I ran 18guage wires to front and rear speakers. 7541 infinity amp powers the front and rear speakers, and 611a powers my two JL W3v3. Did you have similar issues with your's. Hissing goes away only when turning imput all the way to minimum on the amp. That doesn't sound right does it?
