you guys arent worried about someone jacking ur car or systems. i live in s. cali. i really want to buy a dvd navi system but non of them are detachable. nice systems guys

Consider a Eclipse AVN unit. It's a DVD+Navi functional and you don't need detachble face, it's got ESN (Eclipse Security Network), if someone disconnected the head unit from the battery it will require a CD to reactivate, or else it would have to be send to Eclipse for unlocking, and if you're not the registered owner then.........
I have one and I feel pretty safe.
