HHMMM what does this mean???
Just curious about something. I know the Bose sub everyone says they hate it but I dont have the room in my car for a sub right now. I have the Bose equipped car with a diff head unit. So my question is that when I try to listen to the stereo I notice that my sub will crackle and then turn off, then it will crackle again and turn on. Does this mean its blown or is there a loose wire. Has this happened to anyone else??
How hard is it to replace?

I've seen this before and people have opened the rear panels up and checked the connections to the tiny little itty-bitty "amplifier" just to the centerline of the car from the woofer and then checked the connection to the woofer itself. You get to both by pulling the 10 mm screws that hold that plate with the subwoofer speaker in place.
Its a bunch of work. Sorry.
If the speaker is blown there are plenty of people that will give you one for free used.
