Replacing stock 10" Sub
Hey guys,
I was just wondering what you guys suggest if I wanted to just replace the stock 10" sub with an aftermarket sub. Can I find a sub that sounds better than stock without replacing the stock amp?
Also, how hard is it to replace the sub?
Thanks,
Tay350Z

First off you do not want to directly replace the stok sub for another and just throw another one in there. It will sound like crap. Best advice is to get an under the strut bar box from Zenclosures on ebay.

And no the stock amp sucks also and you wont be able to push an aftermarket sub with it. Just check out this thread for pics of how crappy the Bose stuff really is.

I have a full fiberglass enclosure that replaces the stock sub, The sub faces down and gets you great performance, Only good way to get a good qualit sound in th estock sub location. Will fit both the Coupe and th econvertible. You can also get it for both sides if you wish.
here is the thread for you https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/186270-group-buy-new-roadster-coupe-enclosure.html

It's not very difficult to remove the subwoofer. Some of the above options are your best bests. Some of the easiest options are the all-in-one subwoofer options like the Infinity Basslink. It will be a significant increase from the stock sub, but it won't be winning you any parking lot sound offs anytime soon.

For about $350 Box and a Sub and a nother $150 For an amp, You can have much nicer set up, Have a better sound and still have a stealthy look. May be a nother alternative versus the bass link. Bass link is somewhat limited to what it can do.
