New Head Unit...Keep Bose speakers...
In the market for a new head unit….I currently have a 2005 350z touring model, with the Bose system. I want to keep the Bose speakers and sub woofer. Just looking to replace the head unit with one that is 2-din also and plays MP3 and has Bluetooth capabilities…Can someone point me in the right direction…
Thanks!
Thanks!

Go to crutchfield.com. Look at the Alpine and Pioneer units especially if you want to use an Ipod later on. If you order from them you get the wiring harness adapter free and instructions on how to install. It took me about 20 min to install my new deck.

All of the decks say "nstallation Details for your 2005 350Z
» Modifications to the installation kit will be required.
» If the vehicle has factory XM it will be lost if factory radio is replaced.
» The factory navigation will still operate, but the voice guidance system will be lost.
» You'll get free lifetime tech support for as long as you own your gear!
"
I have the navi also...but i do not want to lose the voice guidance system...is there a work around? Or a particular deck that has all these options?

I'm also in the same situation but I don't care about the Navi voice. The only think I'm worried about is that Nissan BOSE systems of the past had amps for every speaker, so adding a new headunit was kind of a *****. I'm assuming people here have just added headunits without touching the speaker setups and had success?

navi voice is very easy to retain, simply by hooking up another speaker somewhere attached to the voice output wires of hte nav, geting the headunit to mute thorugh requires some resistor work whcih i dont really know how to do...but the nav voice retention i have done on about a dozen cars now
but from what i have heard in other peoples cars, just adding a headunit into a bose system has yield less than ideal results (read worse sq than stock)

WHere would you place the other speaker in the Z for the Navi voice? Yeah, i heard for the bose speakers to work with an aftermarket speakers the head units need to have 0 watts out since the speakers have the amps built in to them....can someone chame in on this.....
Isn't there some random head unit out there that will just integrate with the bose/navi system?!?
