Default 3 or 2 RCA pairs from HU to 5ch amp?

The manual for my 700.5 Kicker amp says I to run 2 RCA pairs (front/rear) from the HU to Amp, and a 3rd RCA pair (sub) as optional...will running the 3rd RCA set for the sub channel add anything to the sound or performance of the amp/sub?? (searched on this site, as well as JL's tutorials, but couldn't find the answer)

HU: JVC KD-DV6200 (it has line-level out front/rear/sub RCA connections)
Amp: Kicker 5-Channel Amplifier (06ZX7005)

if there's no difference in running the extra sub RCA pair, I'd just assume save the $, time and space for having to route it. (but if it helps, it's not much extra effort to add it)

thanks,
Peter

You will need to run 3 sets if you want to independantly control the fade between front rear and the sub level. If you are going to run Rear speakers as well as the sub, yes you will need 3 sets.

that makes sense...to carlify: if I run all 3 RCA's (front, rear, sub) from the HU to the amp, I can control fade (front-Rear), and sub level from the HU- right?

thanks for the help!
