oh lord, for the love of god stay away. save up $50 to $100 more and get a ddx6017 new off ebay. double din units look sooooo much cleaner not to mention the kenwood unit's quality is going to be far superior to that pos.

here: http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-DDX6019-...QQcmdZViewItem

under $670 shipped. your frys pos junk special $599 + tax = 649.00. no brainers get the DDX6019!!

You asked for input so Im going to tell you that I would not even put that in my whip. You have a nice car (I assume your Z) so treat it with quality parts or at least look into the Jensen DD I think you can get them for around 400 they come with Ipod control and TV tuner ,alot of audio installer's I know say that bang for buck you cant go wrong the only thing you have to get past is the name..I cant, but some members on the fourm have them and seem to like Jensen DD.

What about this one? I really like the look of the double din but the prices are just so high! I'd like to replace my head unit, front speakers, and put in a sub.

I got a quote from Car Toys yesterday for an Alpine DD head unit with a screen, Focal components, 2 JL W1 10's, 2 JL 2 Channel amps, and 2 custom sub boxes for the spots inbetween the rear sway bar and the back and it was over $3,400 installed! How do you guys pay for all this stuff!

I would probably install it all myself except for the boxes. They quoted me $450 in labor to install a head unit, 2 amps, and door speakers.

I guess I'll just be sticking with my crappy 3 speaker stock setup for now.

I would shell out another couple hundred or so and get something from a more reputable company. Jenson, Kenwood, and Pioneer's DIN can be had for around 600-700 now. In the end you'll probably be happier for not cheaping out in the first place.

The panasonic is pretty good get the metra dash kit and install it yourself.
As far as how we pay is simple plan save then buy or put it on your plastic
and pay that off. I just spent 1500+on system upgrades planned that about
2 months ago . DIY = save a$$load of money , do a serach on this fourm and
check the how to section and you can get alot of Info.
